It was a long day at work yesterday but, I had a couple of NSV last night. I'm tired but, very pleased.
DW's parents & Auntie came by for a visit last night. Auntie is from Houston & was a terrific hostess when the family visited there last year. We had pani puri for supper. It's an Indian dish made with crispy puffs of fried chickpea batter & chickpea-like beans, moong beans, & chutney. Very yummy. I ate well but, didn't overeat. MIL still doesn't believe me I'm through eating when I say I'm full. Maybe because I was on home turf I was able to withstand her urgings to eat more.
A NSV.
After they left I made a crucifix for DD out of wood. She's doing a report on Joan of Arc & needed a prop. It was a simple cross made out of wood but, I was pleased with the results. I told her I wanted it back when she was done with it. Our home is heavy on Hindu gods (Ganapati is my man) but, light on Christian symbols. After I was through with the woodworking I had to sit through a dress rehearsal of her report. DW doesn't know much about history so my input was required. She did a good job & I was glad to do it.
I didn't get out on the road until after 9:30. I was bound & determined to increase my mileage & I did. I ran 11 miles & felt great the whole way. I stuck a water bottle in the mailbox & kept myself hydrated every time the route looped past the house. The Ipod Shuffle died out at the end but, I kept going. I passed on the final mile loop because I knew it had to be getting pretty late. By the time I got through it was past 11:45. Once I was through running I had to make lunches & shower & didn't finally get to bed until 1 AM. I'm tired this morning & today promises to be a long day but, it was worth it. If I can pull off a weight loss at WI tonight that would be perfect; if I don't that will be okay too. Happy days.
I'm Pete.
