Spectators at the Race

Alka's (DW) coming with me to my road race Saturday. Priyanka (DD)is not. She has a birthday party to attend, feels bad she won't be at the race but, not so bad to blow off the party. That's fine. They'll be other races.

I was planning on the two of them keeping each other amused while I was running. I'll be running for over two hours. Except for the Boston Marathon I've never been a spectator at a road race. It's Alka's first road race experience. What do the spectators do for two plus hours? You can cheer at the beginning at the race & likewise at the end but, in between what? Bring a good book? It supposed to be a nice day so I guess admiring the Fall foliage is a possibility. Maybe Alka can make a new friend.

This will be the first of what I hope are many more races to come. I want Alka & Priyanka to enjoy themselves. I want them to ultimately join me in a race. Or two.
