I've never run on a treadmill. I've always run outside. Folks whose opinions I trust call them "dreadmills." I dunno. I own a couple of exercise machines: a rowing machine & nordic track skier. They may not be the exact equivalent of rowing a scull or cross country skiing but, they give me a darn good workout. I'm training for a marathon being held in February. I'll be training through the heart of the New England winter. It could be a mild winter. It could be another ballbuster. Cold I can handle. Running in the snow I can handle. Getting hit by a car skidding out of control would be a bummer.
Treadmills aren't cheap. I use the Hell out of my exercise equipment when I'm training. I think I'd need a top of the line model. I can't really justify the expense if I'm the only one using it.
Alka has shown some interest in running. There's no way she's going to run outside through the winter. Once the temps go below 40 she's in for the season. If there was a decent treamill sitting downstairs in the basement maybe both Priyanka & Alka would use it. If I could sell them on the idea I might just pull it off.
Do I really want a treadmill? Would anybody else but me get any use out of it?
I'm Pete.
