Buzz

Edwin "Buzz" Eugene Aldrin Jr. is the 2nd man to walk on the moon.
In 2002 he punched a guy who said his voyage to the Moon was a fake.
He's written children's books.
In 1988 he legally changed his name to "Buzz".
On January 20 Buzz will be 78 years old.
The man deserves a road race.
I don't know about you but,
the 1st Annual Buzz Aldrin 25K of Leominster is on my race calendar.
How 'bout you?
Do it for Buzz.

I was talking to Derek about this earlier today, knowing that I probably won't be ready to run 25K by that time. He proposed that I look into doing the sister race, Louisville's first annual Buzz Lightyear 10 miler, which just happens to be running on the same day. It will be the day for all runners to have a good Buzz going on.

That would be awesome. My goal is simply to have a goal. I'm easily amused so, choosing a date, a distance & a race name works for me. If you can find an actual road race that would be even better. Aside from Turkey Trots & Jingle Bell Runs there's not a lot of races to pick from up in the Northeast after November. Either way it gives me an extra reason to get out the door & train.

I am not embarassed to say that I read this hours ago and am still giggling periodically. I am such an adolescent.
