I'm living with a couple of perverts.
I like to feed the birds. I'm particularly fond of nuthatches & finches so, I bought a thistle sack. Squirrels don't like thistles & larger birds can't handle hanging from the sack. Perfect. I put the sack out last week. Alka & Priyanka noticed it hanging out by the other feeders yesterday. They want me to take it down. They say it looks like a used condom. They spent last night in Hudson due to the predicted snow storm but,now Alka says they won't come home until I take down "that disgusting thing hanging in the backyard." I didn't have the heart to remove the thistle sack at lunchtime because there were birds all over it.
The Pats are on Monday Night Football tonight. Maybe I'll wait to take it down 'til Tuesday so I can have unlimited access to the television.

I love my thistle feeder, as do the goldfinches. Sadly, we don't seem to be wooded enough for nuthatches
When Derek and I first got married, I put up the thistle sock and he was dismayed because of its appearance. After a couple weeks' debate, we switched it out for a fancy thistle feeder and the little fellas wouldn't touch it. Mr. and Mrs. Goldfinch started a letter writing campaign, and when that didn't work, they threatened to have all of their friends poop on us every time we go outside. Needless to say, we're back to the sock.
