I'm Happy But, I Don't Get It

WI was Wednesday. I lost 4.6 lbs. Yeah! Now if understand how, I'd make sure to do it again. I watched my points more diligently; I've continued to exercise; I've been drinking more water. Which one made the biggest contribution I don't know. I was outside painting the house all day Tuesday but, I was eating all day long. I drank about a half gallon of iced tea. Who knows? I celebrated that night by eating like a mad man. What an idiot, it was fun but, I was a pound heavier this morning. So, back on the program strict. Except...

Landmine on the horison is we're going to an engagement party for DW's cousin on Saturday. DW's family is Indian, her Mom & all the Aunties really like me. I've lost 30 lbs since March. Indian mothers like to feed you. A lot. We're eating lunch at one Auntie's house & then going to a hall for the reception. Do you know how they recommend to stop eating before you're full becasue it takes your stomach 20 minutes to tell you're brain you're done? Well, you have to tell a Ba (Indian mom)you're full for 20 minutes before they stop putting food on your plate. Say a prayer for me.

On the exercise front, I had a couple of good runs in this week. I didn't do anything longer than 5 but, my legs are noticeably stronger, & without really putting any thought into it I've picked up the pace. I read some advice on hill running on the Coolrunning website & have started to implement some of their suggestions. I'm still doing nordic track & rowing, although some weeks less than others. I'm really hooked on the running but, I don't want to lose the benefit of the upper body workout they give me. I've started to do pushups after my workouts. Big deal. I'm such a whining titty baby when it comes to doing anything other than my aerobic workout. I don't stretch, I hardly every weight train, & I don't regularly do core stuff. I hate doing anything in addition to my workouts when I'm done. Maybe I'll try doing them before I go run, row, ski. Sooner or later it's going to bite me in the ass. I'm at the point where the contours of my stomach are showing through the layer of fat on my trunk. If I do core stuff maybe I'll actually see muscle. That would be a first.
