The family had a nice day yesterday. Rain was forecast with a 100% chance of heavy rain for much of the day. I said we should go shopping & start pricing out our Painting Rewards Booty.
We started out at a furniture store factory warehouse looking for a dining room table. We've been looking for close to a year, since we moved in last summer. I saw the perfect table as soon as we walked in the door. A nice solid cherry unit with a couple of drop leafs, a simple, elegant, classic design. We paid the nice man at the counter & I'll pick it up today after work. Months & months of scouting paid off; we had done our homework & knew what we wanted.
We went up to NH & hit some more stores. I tried some jeans on at LL Bean. I am now at least 32 waist, maybe even less. I'm going to wait another 10 lbs before I starting investing in new thread though but, it was a nice little victory for me.
Afterwards we checked out TV's at Best Buy & Circuit City. I'm gravitating towards a 42", wall hung plasma unit by Samsung. Beautiful. I really hadn't seen an HDTV picture set up properly before. They had one TV tuned to a World Cup game. I was blown away. DD was checking out her Ipod too. We're going to take our time making the final decision on the new television but, it's going to be great.
The last stop in Nashua was the Home Depot. DW bought me a pressure washer. I had been renting one locally everytime I needed to start another side of the house. Now I own one. Two thumbs up to women who buy their hardworking husbands new power tools!
Finally, we came home & I ordered takeout from the local Thai restaurant. It was delicious & a nice way to end a very productive day. We were all in very good moods.
The house is looking swell. The trickiest parts of the job still lie ahead but, serious progress has been made. It's going to be a lot of work. Long days & short tempers await but, there is an end in sight. I'm still working out. I'm still watching what I eat. I'm still losing weight. The family is still speaking to one another (most days). Life is Good.
I'm Pete.
