I have a lovely 14+ mile route all mapped out & waiting for me. It's three series of loops that intersect right in front of the house, perfect for waterstops. It starts out with a five miler that's pretty level; the second loop has a switchback series of hills; the final 5 mile loop hits two to three hills on an out & back route. Challenging. This will be a real workout.
Yesterday's painting: I finished the side next to the garage. DW helped out a little, so did DD. We got chased inside once by a passing shower. The ladies took care of the finish coat 5' off the ground. I had ladder duty. I painted 'til 3. By then DD was playing with her new Ipod & DW was napping. Editorial note: if I was napping while DW was working there would be Hell to pay. Life is unfair. Oh well. A rested wife is a less cranky wife.
I would've loved to spend the rest of the day on the front porch swing but, alas. I did the family man thing. We went furniture shopping. We had a nice dinner. I wanted to be running by 8. It didn't happen. I went for a walk with DW after dinner. I tried to help DD figure out how she erased her Itunes library. I wasn't much help.
I finally got out the door after 9:30 PM. No Ipod shuffle on this run. One of the casualites of DD's I-tunes erasure was my Shuffle. The first five miles was pretty good. It has one long gradual hill. The second 4 mile loop was tougher. It's a hill route with three up & down switchbacks. It was more challenging than I thought. Maybe it was the heat or the late hour but, my quads were pretty leaden halfway through it. I decided to blow off the third loop (pretty hilly too) & finished up doing 9.7 miles. I really wanted to do 14 but, I was happy with the run. I'll get it next time. Got home just after 11, by the time I got the garbage out by the curb, made lunches, showered & mapped the route I'd just run it was 12:15.
Long day. Good day but, long. Someday I'll rest.
I'm Pete.
