House Painting: Mile 20?

The house painting is at the equivalent of mile 20 of the marathon. The end of the race isn't that far away. You alternate between feelings of knowing your can accomplish the goal and/or wondering what in the world in the world made you take on this task in the first place.

Yesterday, the 4th, was a day of painting for the whole family. DD & DW took care of the scraping, priming,& 2 finish coats on the first 6-7' of down below on the remaining side of the house. I started up at the peak & worked my way down to the top of the 2nd floor windows. The 28' extension ladder was fully extended & was practically on tip toes on the third rung from the top of the ladder stretching to reach the top of the peak. If I was one inch shorter I couldn't have done it. I'm fully aware of the distance to the ground & feel totally exposed. It's a gut-wrenching experience. Not fun. By the end of the day my legs were getting shaky with fatigue & I got a little dizzy on the last couple of climbs.

The ladies worked until 4; I called it quits around 7. We had a nice barbecue & saw some fireworks later that night. All in all it was an exhausting day. I didn't work out but, figured I'd earned the night off. Even though I was beat I wound up staying up until midnight. I'm a creature of habit & if I don't sit down to read for about an hour each day I feel as if I haven't relaxed.

WI today. I think I'll post a loss but, who knows? I'm exercising, I don't believe I'm overeating but, I'm still not journaling regularly. What the hell is wrong with me? That's the best & only way to truly monitor my eating.
