This Looks Like a Job for Cellphone Repairman!

I have brought Priyanka's cellphone back to life.

Two weeks ago she left her phone in her jeans' pocket & it went for a ride through the wash & dryer. Afterwards the phone wouldn't work. If you left the battery in it would just vibrate & not much else.

Priyanka & her Mom were looking for a replacement on E-bay.

I searched the Web for suggestions on possible fixes. The one I wound up using involved taking the phone completely apart. I've loved disassembling electronic stuff since I was a kid so, that was cool. The interior was all coated with dried laundry detergent. I first tried swabbing the entire thing with a Q-tip soaked in alcohol. Then I actually dunked the components into a bowl filled with alcohol. I blotted everything dry & let it sit out on a table in the study for about a week. I put it back together again last night & everything works like new.

Priyanka's happy. Alka's pleased. I'm amazed.
