Well the sun isn't shining today,at least outside. On the inside, that's another story. I hit my 10% WL last night at WI. I lost 3.4 lbs last week for a total WL of 24.2 lbs since March 1st. I'm quite happy with myself. It felt a little anticlimatic; nobody at WW made a big deal out of it. The lady who did the actual WI should've noticed it on my WW card but,I think she was thinking of her next pack of Luckies (deep, gravelly, smoker's voice). Lisa, the lady that runs the meeting was impressed during the meeting with my totals but,I don't think it clicked to her that I had got my 10%. I'm too laid back for my own good. So far, I've only collected a 5 lb WL sticker. Next week I'm going to ask for my additonal stickers & my 10% keychain, dammit.
DW wasn't wicked excited about it but, neither her or DD (teenage metabolism)can relate to the struggles of the gravity impaired. I celebrated by myself with a short rowing workout followed by two shots of tequila, one beer, some popcorn,& two mini-bagels with peanut butter. I felt fine this morning but,I won't be doing that every night.
My next WL goal is 173 lbs. That's 10% of my current weight of 193.2. I hoping to get there in 2 to 2-1/2 months. I am eventually going to become a Lifetime Member. That means I have to get down to at least 162. Although that seems a long way away I know I can do it.
Since I've began this blog I've also started running again. So I might as well start making some fitness goals too.
I'm already scheduled for two road races: a 5 miler next weekend & a half marathon in September. I'm already thinking about a return to marathoning (it's that insidious Let's Talk Running). The Baystate Marathon is in October. It would be difficult but, dare I say it? not impossible to be ready to run it this Fall. I would impress the Hell out of myself if I could pull that off.
In the meantime,I will continue to increase my mileage,cross-train with Nordic Trak & rowing. I still am not yet putting in time strength training or stretching. I did push-ups & sit-ups last night & it was humbling how difficult it was. My stomach muscles ache due to the running. I really need to strengthen my core. I will do it.
I am curious, does anybody besides me read these posts? I see that some have looked at my profile. Please feel free to leave any comments or suggestion. Until next time..
I'm Pete.
