Pre-WI 5/31/06

Well, WI is today. I stepped on the scale this morning & I weighed the same I did two weeks ago.

For the past two weeks I have been starving myeself on WI day rather than deal with the reality of a weight gain. Two weeks ago,after I hit my 10%, I ate like a pig for a week & didn't really think about WI until Monday. I lost .8 lbs that week because I ate nothing but, a piece of fruit for lunch that day. Last week was better but, I was still showing a possible weight gain in the morning (WI is at night)so, I ate virtually nothing all day & even stopped drinking water after 2 PM. I lost 2.3 lbs last week, which indicated the starving was probably unnecessary. Enough is enough, this is unhealthy behaviour. Today I will eat normally. Tonight's WI: whatever will be will be. I haven't been journaling but, I have been exercising. We'll see.

I'm still exercising regularly. I now consider myself a runner who crosstrains (Nordic Trak & rowing). I am scheduled for a half marathon in September. I hope to pick another race to run this summer. In comparison with some of the runners on the Let's Get Running thread my runnins is somewhat unstructured. I've only been running again for five weeks so, I'm satisfied with just gradually increasing my pace & distance. I've plotted out variations of my 5 mile route that would increase my distance to 6,7.5, & 8 miles. I will gradually work them in to the routine.

A potential monkey wrench in the weight-loss routine is the house painting project. I live in a two story colonial with a two car garage & approx 2700 sq ft of living space. DW & I have decided to try & paint the whole thing ourselves. It's going to take lots & lots of time, possibly large chunks of the whole summer. Hopefully I won't be too tired to exercise & will also continue to journal accurately.
