I went for a run out in Leominster State Forest yesterday. It was for the first time since April. At one point I went right when I should've gone left & went all the way down a part of the trail called Barlett Road. Had to do some backtracking. Near as I can tell my 7.3 run was at least 9 miles.
After the run I grabbed a trail map at the parking area where I left my truck. I noticed the part of the trail formerly called Brook Rd had been renamed Hell's Highway. Must've been christened by a X-country team. It's a long somewhat killer hill. My usual route takes me up it twice. It's a good fitness/pace indicator.
I also noticed there's a trail called King Tut's Highway. I think that's a divine sign. Maybe the 1st Annual King Tut's Half Marathon ought to be a trail race.

I want an alpaca!! I'll make him/her a sweater to wear out of people-hair. Now I just have to learn how to knit.
Maybe I'll be set to do the sister race to the King Tut half - the Jeffersonville, IN running of the King Tut 10K...
Sounds like a great idea. The beauty of running your own race is you stand a much better chance of placing first in your age group. Let alone the course record!
The picture is the former governor of Minnesota,Jesse "the Body" Ventura. Arttistgrrl mentioned on LTR I ought to wear a blaze orange feather boa when I run in the woods. When he used to announce for the WWF Ventura wore a bandana on his head, woman's sunglasses,& a feather boa. I found the picture on Google images. I don't know what the deal is with the alpaca.
Can you offer a half of a half component? Okay, I might scare up a half that day but it's not going to be fast. Luckily, I will place.
What ever you feel like running is okay with me. As you as you run like an Egyptian on 11/4.
